- The Epiphany of the Man-God by Maria Valtorta

We present this account of the Epiphany, followed by a commentary on the account by Jesus himself, from The Poem of the Man-God. The Poem of the Man-God remains a legitimate mystical/spiritual source for Christian meditation regarding the life of Jesus as recorded by the Italian mystic, Maria Valtorta (see article, In Response to Various Questions Regarding "The Poem of the Man-God" in the Marian Private Revelation section). – Ed.

The Adoration of the Wise Men

My internal voice warns me:

"Call the contemplations you are about to receive and which I will tell you, "The Gospels of faith," because they will clarify for you and other people the power of faith and of its fruits and will confirm you in the faith of God."

I see Bethlehem, small and white, gathered like a brood of chickens under the stars. Two main streets divide the town crosswise: one coming from beyond the town, and it is the main road that continues on the other side, the other road runs across the town, from one side to the other, but does not proceed further. There are other small streets dividing the town into many sections, without the slightest resemblance to a road scheme as we understand it. The roads are suited to both the ground, which is all gradients, and to the various houses built here and there, according to the vagaries of the ground and the whims of the builder. Some run to the right, others to the left, some at a corner with the road skirting them, which consequently seems a ribbon which unwinds tortuously instead of being a straight one running from one end to the other without any diversion. Now and again there is a little square serving either for a market, or a fountain, or because, owing to the total lack of a building scheme, there is a small piece of sloping ground, not suitable for any structure.

The place where I seem to be staying, appears to be exactly one of those peculiar little squares. It should be square, or at least rectangular. It is instead so strange a kind of trapezium that it looks like an obtuse angled triangle with a blunted vertex. On the longest side: the base of the triangle, there is a low wide building, the widest in the village. Outside, there is a smooth, bare, high wall, with only two doors, which at present are closed. Inside instead, in the large square, there are many windows on the first floor; underneath, instead, there are arcades surrounding yards strewn with straw and rubble, with drinking troughs for horses and other animals. Attached to the rustic pillars, there are rings to which the animals are tied, and on one side there is a large shed to shelter herds and mounts. I realize that it is the hotel of Bethlehem.

The Story of Claude Newman by John Vennari

The following true story of Claude Newman, and his miraculous visions of Our Lady, took place in Mississippi in 1944. The account was told by Father O'Leary, a priest from Mississippi who was directly involved with the events (1). The story is not only fascinating in itself, but, as we will see, it also reinforces many of the points that Our Lady spoke of at Fatima.

"Be Joyful Representatives of Your Eucharistic Jesus" by "Anne," a Lay Apostle

The following presents the initial messages from Jesus to Anne regarding his own Eucharistic presence. The messages are both sublime and powerful, and we share them with you. Anne, a visionary from Ireland, has received permission from her local ordinary, Bishop Leo O’Reilly, for the distribution of messages which she receives from Jesus, God the Father, Our Blessed Mother, the angels and saints (see article, "Discernment of Lay Apostolate of Jesus Christ the Returning King," Marian Private Revelation section).

Jesus

The love in My heart gushes forth upon your world. In an unparalleled manner, I lavish graces on souls. My children, My love is such that I can no longer contain it. I see so many in need of Me, and truly, they shall have Me. Bring My words to those who suffer. My words will be the balm you will use to nurse souls back to wellness. Like heavenly nurses, you will apply My words to every wound and you will see miraculous results. My children, I am working through you. I am using you as healing instruments. Your world is sick and suffers from a disease far worse than any disease of the body. The very soul of your world struggles now, to find the source of healing it requires. And I am here. I intend to heal your world. I want you to be joyful representatives of your Eucharistic Jesus. The Eucharistic Jesus calls out to His children in firmness. I call you each by name and I say to you, "It is time to return to Me." Come to Me, waiting in the tabernacle, and I will reveal Myself to you in such a way that you will have no doubts. You will be glad in your heart and peaceful in your soul. Rest near the Eucharistic heart of your Savior and you will be granted everything you need. Faith is a gift, My dear one. I wish to give this gift to you. But you must turn to Me so that I may. My heart beats only with love for you. I can promise you that I will not reproach you. I will help you understand that only joy and light is suitable for a child of God. You will return to us one day. Let us make that the most joyful day of your life. Come to Me, My child, and I will show you how. You say, "Jesus, I forget how to pray." My child, does a small one forget how to cry when he is hurt? Of course not. Come before Me and cry out your pain, your hurt, and your fear. We need not do it all in one day, but take the first step to Me by coming in front of Me. Put yourself in My Eucharistic presence and I will do the rest. The work will come from Me. I will move you back swiftly to that place that has been reserved for only you in My Sacred Heart. You see, My child, if you have been away from Me, that place has been empty. I, your Jesus, have felt the emptiness terribly as I waited for your return. My heart aches waiting for you, so do not let Me suffer another moment. Do you begin to understand? I love you totally. You were meant to be with Me. Do not let anything hinder your return. I am your God, the God of All. The world wants to trick you out of your inheritance, but I hold it for you. It is safe with Me, My child, so return to Me now, that I may begin to heal you.

- Exterior Practices of True Devotion to Mary by St. Louis Marie de Montfort

Although what is essential in this devotion consists in the interior (1), we must not fail to unite to the inward practice certain external observances. "We must do the one, yet not leave the other undone" (Matt. 23:23); because the outward practices, well performed, aid the inward ones; and because they remind man, who is always guided by his senses, of what he has done or ought to do; and also because they are suitable for edifying our neighbor, who sees them; these are things which inward practices cannot do. Let no worldling, then, or critic, intrude here to say that because true devotion is in the heart, we must avoid external devotion; or that devotion ought to be hidden, and that there may be vanity in showing it. I answer, with my Master, that men should see our good works, that they may glorify our Father who is in Heaven (Matt. 5:16); not, as St. Gregory says (2), that we ought to perform our actions and exterior devotions to please men and get praise—that would be vanity; but that we should sometimes do them before men with the view of pleasing God, and glorifying Him thereby, without caring either for the contempt or the praise of men.

I will allude only briefly to some exterior practices, which I call "exterior" not because we do not perform them interiorly, but because they have something outward about them to distinguish them from those which are purely inward.

- Divine Meekness, Patience, and Clemency Mirrored in Mary's Heart by St. John Eudes

God's meekness, patience and clemency are three divine perfections which are joined with mercy to form one and the same perfection, although their effects are different.

Mercy regards the misery of creatures in general, to relieve and to deliver them from its fetters. The first and greatest of miseries, the source of all wretchedness is sin. When man is so unhappy as to offend God mortally, he at once becomes the object of God's wrath which would crush him the very instant he consents to sin, as he infinitely deserves to be. But divine meekness prevents the destruction and arrests the torrent of God's just anger, ready to pour upon the sinner. If man perseveres in his crime, he deserves to be cast upon divine vengeance, but divine patience interposes and persuades God to suffer the sinner and await his repentance with admirable goodness.

These are the effects of divine meekness and patience. God's clemency is manifested by remitting entirely or in part the punishment due to sin.

- The Church Fathers' Marian Interpretation of the Old Testament by Danny Garland Jr.

(T)he figure of the woman is indispensable for the structure of biblical faith. She expresses the reality of creation as well as the fruitfulness of grace. The abstract outlines for the hope that God will turn toward his people receive, in the New Testament, a concrete, personal name in the figure of Jesus Christ. At the same moment, the figure of the woman, until then seen only typologically in Israel although provisionally personified by the great women of Israel, also emerges with a name: Mary (1).

These words by Pope Benedict XVI, writing as Joseph Cardinal Ratzinger, describe the inseparable union between Jesus Christ and the Blessed Virgin Mary. For Mary is the perfect creature who mediates her Son and Creator, the God-man, into the world. Christ created His Mother immaculately to prepare her for her role as Co-redemptrix: the woman with the Redeemer. And precisely because Our Lord made His Mother and endowed her with a co-redemptive mission, we should look to Our Lady to gain a better understanding of Christ and His mission. "Mary has been the subject of close theological study on account of her essential reference to the Word of God and, in him and through him, to the history of salvation" (2). The starting point of all Mariology should be her relation to Christ. A proper Mariology leads to a proper Christology. We see this most evidently with the early heresies of the Church, such as the Nestorian heresy. It wasn’t until Nestorius denied that Mary was the Theotókos, that it was revealed that he denied Christ’s divinity as well. "(O)nly when it touches Mary and becomes Mariology is Christology itself as radical as the faith of the Church requires. The appearance of a truly Marian awareness serves as the touchstone indicating whether or not the christological substance is fully present" (3). In Mariology, Christology is defended!

At Elevation of Eucharist, "M" Appears by The Lady of All Nations

During her December 8, 1977, Eucharistic Experience (ecclesiastical approval, May 31, 2002, see "Church Approves Apparitions of the Lady of All Nations" article), Our Lord grants visionary Ida Peerdeman a vision during Mass of a glittering letter "M" visible within the Light over the altar during the Consecration. As the vision shifts to a large square, throngs of people came from all directions to gather behind the symbols of a lily and an interlaced A-M. – Asst. Ed.

During Holy Mass "the Light" came at the Creed, when the words "Simul Adortur" were pronounced. It was shining over the altar and the priest and then spread slowly over all those present.

During the Consecration "the Light" was shining only over the altar and the priest, and we were in the shade. At the Elevation of the Sacred Host and the Chalice, I saw a glittering letter "M" appear within "the Light" over the altar. It radiated on all sides.
