Whether the report from California researcher Dr. Samuel Wood of the first successful human clone is true or not, we know, tragically, that it is not a matter of "if" but "when." It is said that the scientists who successfully cloned the sheep "Dolly" warned fellow scientists not to try cloning techniques for producing a human being. In the process of arriving at Dolly, there were so many bizarre and freakish aberrations of a sheep that it indicated that the effects of using similar trial-and-error techniques to clone humans would have grotesque results. But many scientists are not listening. Human cloning represents the final rejection of God the Father. We can kill human beings without him through abortion and euthanasia, and now we can create human beings without him—or can we? http://www.motherofallpeoples.com/index.php?option=content&task=view&id=1231 --------------------------------------------------------------------------- - In 2008, "Let Us Entrust Ourselves to Her" by Pope Benedict XVI Pope Benedict XVI gave the following general audience address on January 2 this year, regarding the Feast of Mary the Mother of God. In it, he highlights the offering of the Child Jesus for adoration, emphasizes Pope Paul VI’s solemn proclamation of Mary, Mother of the Church, and offers some valuable insight into the depths of just what it means that the Beloved Disciple "took her to his own home" (Jn 19:27). The pope takes the faithful from the Annunciation to Calvary to show her spiritual motherhood over John and all humanity. Dear Brothers and Sisters, A very ancient blessing formula recorded in the Book of Numbers says: "The Lord bless you and keep you: the Lord make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you: The Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace" (Num 6: 24-26). I would like to use these words which the liturgy yesterday, the first day of the year, repeated for us once again, to express cordial greetings to you who are present here and to all those who sent me attestations of affectionate spiritual closeness for these feasts. Yesterday, we celebrated the solemn Feast of Mary, Mother of God. "Mother of God," Theotókos, is the title that was officially attributed to Mary in the fifth century, to be exact, at the Council of Ephesus in 431, but which had already taken root in the devotion of the Christian people since the third century, in the context of the heated discussions on the Person of Christ in that period. This title highlights the fact that Christ is God and truly was born of Mary as a man: in this way his unity as true God and true man is preserved. Actually, however much the debate might seem to focus on Mary, it essentially concerned the Son. Desiring to safeguard the full humanity of Jesus, several Fathers suggested a weaker term: instead of the title Theotókos, they suggested Christotokos, "Mother of Christ"; however, this was rightly seen as a threat to the doctrine of the full unity of Christ's divinity with his humanity. On the one hand, therefore, after lengthy discussion at the Council of Ephesus in 431, as I said, the unity of the two natures—the divine and the human (1)—in the Person of the Son of God was solemnly confirmed and, on the other, the legitimacy of the attribution of the title Theotókos, Mother of God, to the Virgin (2). http://www.motherofallpeoples.com/index.php?option=content&task=view&id=1230 --------------------------------------------------------------------------- - "The Love I Feel Bursts Forth from my Eucharistic Heart" by "Anne," a Lay Apostle The following presents the initial messages from Jesus to Anne regarding his own Eucharistic presence. The messages are both sublime and powerful, and we share them with you. Anne, a visionary from Ireland, has received permission from her local ordinary, Bishop Leo O’Reilly, for the distribution of messages which she receives from Jesus, God the Father, Our Blessed Mother, the angels and saints (see article, "Discernment of Lay Apostolate of Jesus Christ the Returning King," Marian Private Revelation section). August 28, 2003 Jesus I want to draw souls into My Sacred Heart. This is the place of safety for you, My dear ones. It is here, in the security of My love, that you can rest and begin to see your world with clarity. Just as I told you that I see your world through your eyes, because I am always with you, I want you to see all through My eyes. In this way, gradually, you and I become one. When you look at a situation that troubles you, I want you to think, "What would My Jesus say about this?" If you are unsure, simply ask Me. I will tell you. In the same way, when you look at a situation that causes you joy, ask Me if I also feel joy. We can then exult together. And there is much to be joyful about, My little one. I am joyful, for example, about you. I see your struggles and do you know why seeing your struggles makes Me joyful? Because you are trying to be good. We, in heaven, observe this struggle for improvement and We send you all manner of little rewards and assistances. We are with you in your struggles, more than you can imagine. My heart beats with such tenderness for you when you struggle. My child, you must not take this struggling as a sign that you are failing, but rather as a sign that you are succeeding. There is little struggle in badness, you see. There is a quiet, ominous acceptance or acquiescence. So do not be afraid. As long as you have the desire to serve Me, I will meet you there, at that initial desire, and I will bring with Me everything you need to succeed. My child, I will make it easy for you. It is not in My nature to confuse, so you must believe that confusion does not come from Me. Fear, anxiety, restlessness do not come from Me. Bitterness, hatred, deceit do not come from Me. Does that mean you will never experience these things? No. It is part of your earthly cross that you will encounter these things. What I am telling you is that you must bring these things to Me. I will then take them from you and you will be free of them. You may encounter these things again, perhaps within the hour. Come back to Me, in your heart, where I remain, and I will take them from you again. You see, My little dear one, your struggles are Mine now. I am stronger, wiser, more able for these things and I want to remove any negative thoughts from you. I seek to heal you and renew you. I can do this if you will let Me. I do not make this promise for now, this moment. I make this a lifetime pledge to you. When you experience a difficulty with your emotions, you bring it right to Me. And that's where it will end. I do not want My children troubled by obsessions. And because you belong to Me, and seek to serve Me, this is a right I bestow upon you. You may think of it as an advance on your eternal inheritance. I intend to give you a portion of the peace We enjoy in heaven. This is My gift to you and is a special concession for the difficult times you are living. Bring your troubles to Me, little soul of My heart. The following article is an excerpt from a chapter in the soon-to-be-published Marian anthology, Mariology: A Guide for Priests, Deacons, Seminarians, and Consecrated Persons, Seat of Wisdom Books, A Division of Queenship, 2008. Fifteen international Mariology experts contributed to the text. The book features a foreword by Archbishop Raymond L. Burke and has 17 chapters divided into four parts: 1. Mary in Scripture and the Early Church; 2. Marian Dogma; 3. Marian Doctrine; and 4. Marian Liturgy and Devotion. The book will be available from Queenship Publications in mid-February. Introduction The two closely related mysteries treated in this chapter are extraordinarily important, indeed, according to the Scotistic-Franciscan view of Mariology, crucially important, for a correct appreciation of Catholic theology on Mary and the Marian character of "our theology," viz., the saving knowledge of God possible to us in a time of pilgrimage (1). Since the close of Vatican II, and despite that Council’s very firm reaffirmation of both mysteries in the traditional sense (2), treatment of the predestination of Mary has disappeared from Mariological study. Some expositions of the Immaculate Conception have either 1) minimized its binding dogmatic character with calls for its "dedogmatization," viz., its reduction to the status of a thesis pertaining to an unimportant and perhaps out-dated theological system no longer binding in faith on all Catholics; 2) downplayed or even denied its character as a unique privilege of Mary alone, and so reducing the Mother of God to the status of just another woman; or 3) totally naturalized the privilege (along the lines of the ancient heretic Pelagius) by eliminating any reference in its definition to original sin (3). http://www.motherofallpeoples.com/index.php?option=content&task=view&id=1228 --------------------------------------------------------------------------- - 150 Years after the Definition and Lourdes Apparitions by Br. John M. Samaha, S.M. In these months we are honoring two special vocations in God’s plan of salvation—the immaculately conceived Virgin Mary and one of her special protégés, Bernadette Soubirous. The solemnity of Mary’s Immaculate Conception is celebrated on December 8, and honors the conception of Mary in the womb of her mother, St. Anne, without original sin. February 11 is the feast of Our Lady of Lourdes, the date of the first appearance of Our Lady to Bernadette. April 16 is the feast day of St. Bernadette. In 2008 we celebrate the 150th anniversary of the Blessed Virgin’s apparitions at Lourdes, where she identified herself to St. Bernadette as the Immaculate Conception. In 2004 we observed the 150th anniversary of Bl. Pope Pius IX’s solemn definition of this dogma on December 8, 1854. Bl. Pius IX explained that Mary was preserved from original sin by a "singular grace and privilege" given her by God "in view of the merits of Jesus Christ," Redeemer of the human race. Mary, like every other human being, needed the redemptive benefits of Christ. But in anticipation of what God did for all through Christ, she alone was preserved from original sin "from the first moment of her conception." As one writer asserted, hers was a "redemption by exemption." By her Immaculate Conception she was conceived in the fullness of grace, in the state of closest possible union with God in view of her future role as the Mother of the Redeemer. http://www.motherofallpeoples.com/index.php?option=content&task=view&id=1227 --------------------------------------------------------------------------- - Bring the Little Ones to "Him Who Is" by The Lady of All Nations During her February 2nd, 1978, Eucharistic Experience (ecclesiastical approval, May 31, 2002, see "Church Approves Apparitions of the Lady of All Nations" article), Our Lord grants visionary Ida Peerdeman a vision during Mass of a beautiful and radiant "M" visible within the Light over the altar during the Consecration. "The Voice" then takes the visionary to a large lake, which is divided by a hand. A "Radiant Figure" stands in the pathway, with a reptile-filled swamp on the left and "water of revival" on the right. The Voice urges that as the Bride took her Son to the Father, so must the little ones be brought to Him Who Is. – Asst. Ed. February 2, 1978 During Holy Mass, at the Offertory, "the Light" came over the altar and the priest and then over all those present. At the Consecration I saw "the Light" shining as a large bunch of rays over the altar and the priest, while we were in the shade. At the Elevation of the Sacred Host a beautiful radiant "M" appeared in that "Light" and disappeared slowly after the Elevation of the Chalice. From then "the Light" spread again over all those present. On receiving "Our Lord" I had a heavenly vision. I heard: "This is a blessed day." And I felt how the Blessing came down over all of us and how it filled the whole chapel. Then "the Voice" spoke: "Come, follow Me. Watch well and concentrate. Fidelis Stoeckl, O.R.C. The year 2004 marked the one-hundred-fiftieth anniversary of the definition of the dogma of the Immaculate Conception. On December 8, 1854, with the Bull Ineffabilis Deus, Blessed Pope Pius IX defined the Immaculate Conception of Mary as a dogma of faith. The dogmatic formula was that "the most Blessed Virgin Mary, in the first instant of her Conception, by a singular grace and privilege granted by Almighty God, in view of the merits of Jesus Christ, the Savior of the human race, was preserved free from all stain of original sin" (DS 2803). Unfortunately, many Catholics, even those actively involved in the Church's pastoral mission, have only a superficial or insufficient knowledge of the mystery of Mary's Immaculate Conception. Very few know how to apply this dogma of faith to their daily Christian living. It is in this regard that Pope John Paul II stated that the one-hundred-fifitieth anniversary of the dogma of the Immaculate Conception of Mary "may be an opportunity to renew the theological, cultural and spiritual endeavor to communicate to the men and women of our time the meaning and the genuine message of this truth of faith" (1). http://www.motherofallpeoples.com/index.php?option=content&task=view&id=1225 --------------------------------------------------------------------------- - The Immaculate Conception and Mary's Spiritual Maternity by Msgr. Calkins Early on in my priestly ministry a woman who is a very good friend of mine confided to me about her state of frustration and annoyance when she discovered that she was pregnant with one of the "middle number" of her six children. Being a good Catholic, she never entertained the thought of abortion and surely never deliberately "rejected" this new life in her womb.
