On June 24, 1981, six Croatian youths reported an apparition of the Blessed Virgin Mary in the small Croatian mountain town of "Medjugorje" (pronounced Med-ju-gor-ee-ay). Today, over twenty-two years and approximately thirty million pilgrims later, the visionaries continue to report apparitions and messages from the "Gospa," as they refer to her. These messages are both a profound and urgent plea to the contemporary world regarding its present moral state and, consequently, its future. This book makes no explicit statement regarding the supernatural character of the apparitions. This official judgement can be made only by the teaching authority of the Catholic Church (the Magisterium). The events in Medjugorje are presently under investigation and the author wishes to affirm his unconditional readiness to accept the final judgement of the Church. The focus of this book is the "message" of Medjugorje. We will examine the actual contents of the messages reported by the young visionaries and attributed to the Blessed Virgin Mary. The other reported phenomena (solar miracles, miraculous healings, nature of apparitions, etc.) will be discussed only as they relate to the reported message, either directly of by way of the context. The purpose of this book is to present a summary of the message's core elements for the individual who has neither the time nor the desire for a thorough examination. |

Consecrate Yourself to Mary
Using the Consecration Prayer
of St. Louis-Marie de Montfort
I, (Name), a faithless sinner, renew and ratify today in your hands the vows of my Baptism; I renounce forever Satan, his pomps and works; and I give myself entirely to Jesus Christ, the Incarnate Wisdom, to carry my cross after Him all the days of my life, and to be more faithful to Him than I have ever been before.
In the presence of all the heavenly court I choose you this day for my Mother and Queen. I deliver and consecrate to you, as your slave, my body and soul, my goods, both interior and exterior, and even the value of all my good actions, past, present and future; leaving to you the entire and full right of disposing of me, and all that belongs to me, without exception, according to your good pleasure, for the greater glory of God, in time and in eternity.
